I’m Dr Christopher Naoum, a cardiologist based at MQ Health Cardiology Clinic in Macquarie University, Sydney. I’ve spent my entire career looking after people’s hearts, and I still get the same quiet buzz every time I walk into a consultation room knowing I might be able to help someone feel better, or even add years to their life.
When you sit down with me, the first thing I do is listen—really listen—to what’s been worrying you. I want to hear your story in your own words. I wanna know whether it’s chest tightness, breathlessness, palpitations, or just a family history that’s keeping you awake at night, I speak fluent English and Arabic, so if Arabic feels more comfortable for you or your family, we can switch without missing a beat.
I’ve always believed that the scariest part of heart trouble is not understanding what’s happening inside your body. That’s why I take the extra time to explain everything in plain language—no medical jargon unless you want it. I’ll sketch diagrams on paper, show you your ECG tracings, walk you through your echo pictures, and make sure you leave the room knowing exactly what the plan is and why we’re doing it.
In my clinic I offer all the practical tests you might need: blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, Holter monitors, cholesterol and diabetes screening, stress tests, and echocardiograms. I work hand-in-hand with an amazing team of cardiac nurses, sonographers, and fellow specialists, so everything happens under one roof with minimal waiting.
I’m lucky to practise at Macquarie University—easy to reach from Chatswood, Parramatta, Ryde, or anywhere across Sydney’s north. There’s plenty of parking, and the train station is only a short walk away. My rooms are in Suite 203, Level 2, inside the main clinic building at 2 Technology Place.
What matters most to me is prevention. Yes, I treat heart attacks and heart failure when they happen, but my real passion is helping you avoid them in the first place—fine-tuning blood pressure, getting cholesterol under control, talking about exercise and diet in a way that actually fits your life, not some textbook ideal.
I stay on top of the latest research and guidelines because heart medicine moves fast, and I owe it to every patient to bring the most current, evidence-based care possible.
If you’re looking for a cardiologist who will treat you like a person, not a set of numbers—who will explain things clearly, answer every question, and walk beside you for the long haul—then I’d be honoured to look after you. Give my rooms a call or ask your GP for a referral. I’m here when you need me.
