I am Dr Kevin Foo, an
ophthalmologist. I am based in Kew, Victoria. I’ve been looking after people’s eyes for more than
38 years, and I still find it a privilege every time someone trusts me with their sight.
I graduated with my MBBS in 1987 and went on to complete my specialist training in ophthalmology, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in 1997. That fellowship marked the start of a career that has centred on cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and glaucoma care.
At Kew Eye Clinic on High Street South, my team and I see patients for everything from routine check-ups to complex surgical cases. I perform small-incision cataract surgery with modern lens implants, and I offer laser vision correction when it’s the right fit. My particular interest is in Glaucoma—catching it early and managing it carefully can make all the difference. I take pride in guiding patients through that process.
I also consult at Knox Eye Clinic and operate at Manningham Day Procedure Centre. These locations let me serve families across Melbourne’s east in facilities that are comfortable and well equipped.
My approach has always been the same: listen properly, examine thoroughly, explain things plainly, and only recommend treatment that is genuinely needed. I can speak English and Mandarin. This helps when patients prefer to discuss their concerns in their first language.
Outside the clinic I keep up with the latest techniques and research, but what matters most to me is the practical outcome—whether someone can read the newspaper again, drive safely after dark, or simply enjoy a walk without worrying about their vision.
If you’re due for an eye check or have questions about cataracts, glaucoma, or refractive options, please give the clinic a call or book online.
