I’m Dr Matthew Accatino, an endocrinologist based in Brisbane. I see patients at the Wesley Medical Centre in Auchenflower and also consult at Holdsworth House in the city and at Prescribe Specialist Group rooms in Milton and Newstead. I take a practical, evidence-based approach and aim to give patients clear explanations and realistic plans they can actually follow.I graduated in medicine from Griffith University in 2013 after first completing a Bachelor of Exercise Science. I finished my physician training in endocrinology through the Queensland network and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2020. In 2023 I completed a Master of Medicine in Metabolic Health through the University of Sydney, and in 2025 I will start a PhD at the University of Queensland looking at long-term outcomes in transgender healthcare.I’m actively involved in teaching medical students and junior doctors as a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland, and I regularly present at local and national conferences. I’m a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, the Australian Diabetes Society, the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society, AusPATH and WPATH.Outside of work I’m usually outdoors (running, cycling or walking my border collie), trying to keep up with my young family, or planning the next camping trip.
